Frequently asked questions

Once a booking has been confirmed, you will receive an email with all the details on it. This will tell you:

  • Your guide’s name
  • Your guide’s contact number
  • Details of where to meet and what to bring

That’s it!

We aren’t biased when we say we work with the best guides in every city! In addition to tours of the main historic sites, they offer specialty tours that take years to develop and learn. These may be food, ghost, street art, or off-the-beaten-path tours.

We charge for these tours since they are unique, and not every guide can lead them! Most of our guides are full-time, career tour guides, and ticketed tours allow us to support them and provide tours to those not looking for the “traditional free tours.”

The time and distance of each tour are displayed on the description of each tour. Please note that these are merely estimates. Sometimes a tour may take longer if there are queues or if another member of the tour is slower or has a lot of questions. However, all our tour guides are very experienced and no where they can speed up or slow down if necessary to ensure your tour is completed in the allotted time.

For bookings of 6 people or more, please contact us on [email protected] to discuss the possibility of a discount. We will then issue you with a unique, once-off discount code. That said, groups of 10 or more are not allowed on public tours. This is not our rule, but rather the rule applied by most cities we offer Tours in.

The reason we cannot offer a standard discount is because some tours include an  entrance ticket, the cost of which is beyond our control.

We will endeavor to give you the best rate possible on all group bookings.

We do not allow “walk ups” on any of our Tours for a number of reasons.

Reservations help us determine the number of guides we need to ensure that our groups remain manageable and enjoyable.

They also allow us to notify you of changes to the tour due to weather or anything else that could disturb the tour.

Our guides do not carry cash or a means of accepting payment so reservations are vital.

You will receive your reservation confirmation and a reminder on the day before your tour via email. However, we recommend that you provide a phone number by which you can be reached on the day of the tour.

This way, your tour guide can contact you if there are any short notice changes to the tour.

While we love having younger visitors join us, we require that they attend the tour with an adult. We cannot accommodate guests under 18 who are not attending with an accompanying adult.

We love animals, but unfortunately, not all guests do. Pets are not allowed on public tours where other guests may be attending.

We do offer private tours, and many of these can accommodate pets. Service animals trained in a specific task(s) for a disability are allowed on tours.

Please contact us on [email protected] before booking a tour with a service animal or if you would like to arrange a private tour.

Some tours cannot accommodate strollers unless they can be folded and carried, as there are unavoidable stairs. As many areas we tour are historic, the sidewalks are narrow, bumpy, and not recommended.

Please contact us on [email protected] if you are unsure of whether a specific tour allows strollers or prams.

While we will do all we can to offer accessible tours, not every tour can accommodate wheelchairs. The description for a specific tour will state whether it has stairs. Please get in touch with us on [email protected] before booking to ensure that we can make the route accessible for you.

We recommend arriving at the starting location at least 15 minutes before the tour starts.

You don’t want to be the person arriving late and having to call and interrupt the guide in the middle of a tour. Your email reminder that you receive the day before the tour should list the tour guide’s name and phone number.

The show must go on! Our tours go out rain or shine. Dress appropriately for the conditions. If the weather is dreary, your guide will include as many covered stops as possible. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Why not take advantage of our merchandise where you can buy branded umbrellas and clothing to take on the tour with you and keep as a memento afterwards?

Yes, but you must give us 48 hours advanced notice from when your tour starts. Your booking confirmation will have the exact information.

Yes, we do offer private tours! Please contact us on [email protected] and we’ll plan the perfect tour for you depending on your requirements.
